What are your Easter traditions? I have so many wonderful memories of Easter, especially when our kiddos were small. Hunting for eggs, parades, family gatherings, meals & of course, church.
Our family has celebrated Easter in at least a half dozen countries over the years. Each country brought its own culture & traditions.
One of my favorite Easter memories while living overseas, was the Easter school parade in Egypt. Kids all dressed up from all over the world attended Cairo American College & marched in the Easter parade. In spite of differences in religion and culture, we were able to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection with a wonderful community of believers in a non-Christian country. That’s extra special!
Easter is Hope & Joy. Joy knowing Christ loved us so much He died on the cross & gave the world Hope when He rose again.
As a young girl, one of my fondest Easter Sunday memories at church was listening to my mom sing with great abandon her favorite Easter hymn, “Up from the Grave He Arose”. The words are powerful and still give me goose bumps.
“HE AROSE! HE AROSE! HALLELUJAH, CHRIST AROSE”!
HAPPY EASTER, DEAR FRIENDS!
Love y’all,
connie
P.S. I’m sure everyone’s heart was breaking as they watched Notre Dame go up in flames this week. Perhaps you saw on the news that the cross & altar were saved! Pray for Notre Dame to be restored and continue to be a blessing to the world.
We wish y’all a blessed Holy Week and a wonderful Easter!
If you’re in Austin and don’t have a church to celebrate Easter, please join me and my family at Mission Hills Church at Mercury Hall, 615 Cardinal Lane, Austin, Tx 78704. Our Easter Celebration will start at 9:00 am.
Love,
connie
Stay tuned for next week’s video. I think you’re going to love my G/F fresh pasta with Connie’s Cream Sauce with an ingredient that takes this sauce to the next level.
