I started saying “Doctoring Up” when I would make something and discover it needed a “POP”! So, I would start adding things to improve the taste & started referring to this elite method of cooking or baking, “DOCTORING UP”!
It’s so easy AND fun to do! My breakfast bowls are prime examples of “doctoring up”. Check out my Apple Dip and Homemade Caramel Sauce videos. (LINKS HERE) These are great examples of “doctoring up” vanilla yogurt! I call it “Calorie up” in the videos, but it’s basically just making something taste even better.
This is just my opinion, but yogurt can use some “doctoring up”. Try adding Apple Dip or Caramel Sauce, top it off with my homemade granola, (LINK HERE), chopped toasted pecans and all of a sudden, you have a party in your mouth!
Cookies! Another great example of doctoring up! Take a basic cookie dough recipe and add special ingredients. Mini m&m’s, raisins, nuts, cranberries, oats, chopped toffee! The possibilities are endless; just use your imagination and grab your fave ingredients from the pantry. Or, ask your kiddos what they would like to add to the dough! They might come up with the next Big Cookie Idea! Have Fun & Don’t Be Shy!
