Rice Krispy Treats with the Grandkids!

 

Marco, Keira & I had a blast making one of the easiest treats that kiddos (adults, too) LOVE!

It’s a pretty standard recipe, which is fun & easy to change up!   We added chocolate sprinkles on top!   Of course, that was Marco & Keira’s favorite part!   LOL!

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies® cereal
  1. In microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add the cereal little by little allowing all of the cereal to be coated in the melted mashmallow mixture.
  3. After the mixture is well coated, press into a buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. We put foil in ours first to avoid a gooey, sticky clean up!   Using a buttered spatula to spread out the yummy treats in the pan is helpful.  Also, fingers work well, too.  
  4. Cool for about 10 minutes.   These treats are fun to cut into shapes using cookie cutters for special holidays.   Add colorful sprinkles to make them “POP”!   🙂
