Friends,
It doesn’t happen often, but I had NO voice when it came time to make our Valentine Video!
Kristin & I didn’t want to postpone the video since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so we decided to stay on schedule and bring in the best reserves possible! MARCO & KEIRA AYRAULT!
It was a blast making this video with Marco & Keira! They took the job seriously & even improvised! There were several classic lines: One was when Marco mentioned the dessert was gluten free. He wanted y’all to know anyone can eat it, but added: “don’t feed this to babies, they’ll choke!”
Another was when he was adding the brownie layer, “too many brownies may cause a sugar rush”! Keira chimed in with a reminder “don’t feed this dessert to your dogs” & promptly apologized to Abby”! I love these kiddos so much!
This dessert isn’t just for holidays! It’s good any time you want to serve a delicious chocolate dessert. It’s also fun to serve in a small mason jar with a bow tied around the top. I’ve also used a parfait glass which is a beautiful way to show off these delicious layers. One thing for sure…your family & friends will want the recipe!
TO MAKE THE LAYERS, YOU WILL NEED:
- Connie’s G/F Brownies – Click HERE for the recipe!
- Connie’s Fudge Sauce (See recipe below)
- Whipped Cream (See recipe below)
- Heavy Organic Whipping Cream
- Powdered sugar & Vanilla to taste
- Fresh raspberries, rinsed
- Pecans, toasted & chopped
- Valentine sprinkles
- Chocolate sprinkles
4-6 Valentine (or other decorated) Dessert Glasses
To make the Fudge Sauce:
- 2/3 cup sugar
- ½ cup whipping cream
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 3 tbsps. butter
In 1 quart saucepan, cook over medium heat until mixture is smooth and boils, set aside.
Connie’s Go-To Whipped Cream:
- I love freshly whipped cream. My fave cream is Horizon Organic Heavy whipping cream.
- For this recipe, I used approx 2 cups into a large bowl.
- Start beating the cream in a large bowl. Slowly add powdered sugar. I love sweet whipping cream, so typically use a little less than 1/4 cup powdered sugar for 2 cups cream. Taste along the way and decide how much powdered sugar you like.
- Add 1 tsp vanilla. Continue whipping on “High” until cream is fully whipped.
HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER:
- Make Brownies, let them cool. Then cut into shapes or break up into small pieces
- Make Fudge Sauce, let it cool
- Make Whipping Cream, set aside.
YOU’RE READY TO START LAYERING!
- Drizzle a little fudge sauce on bottom of glass
- Add a few pieces of brownie on top of sauce
- Continue with raspberries & pecans
- Drizzle more fudge sauce
- Add some chocolate sprinkes
- Dollop whipped cream and spread to cover
- Start the second layer with brownies & the rest of the yummies
