The Best Valentine’s Day Dessert in a Glass!

Friends,

It doesn’t happen often, but I had NO voice when it came time to make our Valentine Video!

Kristin & I didn’t want to postpone the video since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so we decided to stay on schedule and bring in the best reserves possible!   MARCO & KEIRA AYRAULT!

It was a blast making this video with Marco & Keira! They took the job seriously & even improvised! There were several classic lines: One was when Marco mentioned the dessert was gluten free. He wanted y’all to know anyone can eat it, but added: “don’t feed this to babies, they’ll choke!”

Another was when he was adding the brownie layer, “too many brownies may cause a sugar rush”! Keira chimed in with a reminder “don’t feed this dessert to your dogs” & promptly apologized to Abby”! I love these kiddos so much!

This dessert isn’t just for holidays!   It’s good any time you want to serve a delicious chocolate dessert.  It’s also fun to serve in a small mason jar with a bow tied around the top. I’ve also used a parfait glass which is a beautiful way to show off these delicious layers. One thing for sure…your family & friends will want the recipe!

TO MAKE THE LAYERS, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Connie’s G/F Brownies – Click HERE for the recipe!
  • Connie’s Fudge Sauce (See recipe below)
  • Whipped Cream (See recipe below)
  • Heavy Organic Whipping Cream
  • Powdered sugar & Vanilla to taste
  • Fresh raspberries, rinsed
  • Pecans, toasted & chopped
  • Valentine sprinkles
  • Chocolate sprinkles

4-6 Valentine (or other decorated) Dessert Glasses

To make the Fudge Sauce:
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 3 tbsps. butter

In 1 quart saucepan, cook over medium heat until mixture is smooth and boils, set aside.

Connie’s Go-To Whipped Cream:

  1. I love freshly whipped cream. My fave cream is Horizon Organic Heavy whipping cream.
  2. For this recipe, I used approx 2 cups into a large bowl.
  3. Start beating the cream in a large bowl. Slowly add powdered sugar. I love sweet whipping cream, so typically use a little less than 1/4 cup powdered sugar for 2 cups cream. Taste along the way and decide how much powdered sugar you like.
  4. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Continue whipping on “High” until cream is fully whipped.

HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER:

  1. Make Brownies, let them cool.   Then cut into shapes or break up into small pieces
  2. Make Fudge Sauce, let it cool
  3. Make Whipping Cream, set aside.

YOU’RE READY TO START LAYERING!

  1. Drizzle a little fudge sauce on bottom of glass
  2. Add a few pieces of brownie on top of sauce
  3. Continue with raspberries & pecans
  4. Drizzle more fudge sauce
  5. Add some chocolate sprinkes
  6. Dollop whipped cream and spread to cover
  7. Start the second layer with brownies & the rest of the yummies
  8. Finish with a dollop of whipped cream, raspberry on top & some Valentine sprinkles!
  9. Valentine toothpick embellishment is optional! LOL!
